Shawn Kastl
I am a Colorado Native. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs. 2002 was a big year for me. That year I graduated from Colorado State University, Pueblo. In addition to getting a degree in Business Management, I married my wonderful wife, Sommer and relocated to Northern Colorado.
In 2009, I decided to make a move into the insurance industry. I started as a captive agent, gaining some experience and learning the industry. Being a captive agent means that I could only write policies for that one company I worked for. In 2012, I found that I could better serve my clients by becoming an independent agent, so I started Kastl Insurance. As a broker, I can find the best insurance fit, by shopping many companies. I’m not limited to just one.
Although, my clients keep me busy, I try to spend as much time with my wife and son, Seth, as possible. I love the outdoors, and try to get out and take part of our beautiful state as much as possible. We are big sports fans, so we spend a lot of time at sporting events, both professional and Seth’s. I also volunteer as a Loveland Baseball League coach. I love teaching kids the sport I loved playing when I was young.
I really enjoy what I do. I get to know my clients on a personal level, growing relationships, and it brings me joy to see the things that life brings them. I get to use that knowledge to make sure they have the right coverages to protect the things that mean so much.
Sommer Kastl
While I am not a native of Colorado, I feel that I have been adopted by this beautiful state. I love to call Colorado my home, and am not sure how I could live anywhere else. Although my family and I love to travel, those mountains are the backdrop to our home.
Shawn and I have two children. One of human nature, Seth, and one of Canine Nature, Arizona. Our son, Seth keeps us busy with one of his many sports. Honestly, this is a year-round thing with him. Arizona is a hound mix we rescued in the Summer of 2020, and she keeps us busy with her hound antics.
I am a sports-junky. I love all my Colorado teams, sprinkling in the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs (but only when they are not playing the Broncos or the Rockies.) When I am not cheering on my teams or Seth, I enjoy relaxing with a good book. I’ll be honest, if not working, you’ll likely see me with my nose in my tablet. If reading was an Olympic sport, I would have Michael Phelps beat with the number of medals around my neck.
For the past 20 years, I have been working in office administration, most tying in with the insurance industry, in some form or another. In 2016, I decided to bring my years of experience to our family business. I am proud to stand behind our name and provide our customers with the best service that we can.
Aaron Turco
I was born and raised in Nebraska. I attended Southeast Community College, where I earned my Associate of Applied Science in both Business Management and Welding Technology.
I am a proud father a of beautiful little girl, named Rhya. We have one furry family member, a Yorkie named, Elsa. (I am guessing you can determine who picked out that name.) The movie, Frozen, has been played many times at our home.
In 2014, I moved to Colorado. My hobbies are snowboarding, golfing, camping, fishing, hiking 14ers, paddle boarding, mountain biking, and anything else around the mountains or outdoors. Where better to do those things, than in your own backyard?
I am excited to bring my years of experience in the Insurance industry and Customer Service to the Kastl Insurance team. I look forward to a great collaboration.
Carmen Ramirez
I was born and raised in California but have been in Colorado for the last 20 years. This has become the home my family never knew we needed and wanted. I recently moved to Loveland, Colorado, having spent many years in Kersey!
When I am not working, I am spending time with “my littles,” Lillian, Ruben, and our newest addition Rami. My Family and I, love to travel and immerse ourselves in other cultures but most of all trying out new and savory foods.
I am excited to be part of the Kastl Insurance Team. I first fell in love with the insurance industry about 6 years ago and have continued to grow within this field. I am driven by my will to provide an educational standpoint when it comes to insurance, always striving to provide the absolute best service.
Renee Potts
I have lived in Colorado most of my life. I love the mountains although I never seem to have the time to visit. My favorite time of year is summer. Don’t get me wrong, skiing is fun and all, but I hate the cold.
I have 3 wonderful children. I have one girl, Elizabeth, who is my oldest. And I have two boys, Kayle and Emory, who keep me on my toes. Whoever said boys were easier than girls, is crazy. Maybe I just got lucky. In addition to my children, I also have 4 dogs, a cat, and a rabbit.
In my free time I like to shop. During the early stages of the pandemic, I put my hobby to good use, by assisting those who were not able to leave their homes.
I came on board with Kastl Insurance in March of 2020. With me I bring many years of customer service. I have learned so much about the insurance world since starting here and learn more each day.
